Artist Statement
I began painting seriously during the pandemic, when the world went quiet and I needed a way to make sense of it. Five years later, the canvas is still where I go to ask questions I can't quite put into words.
My work is geometric abstraction driven by color. I build each composition the way a good conversation unfolds, one relationship at a time, letting shapes and hues push against and settle into one another until the whole feels both balanced and alive. I'm drawn to fresh, unexpected color pairings, and to the moment when a painting stops being a set of decisions and starts generating its own energy.
Curiosity sits at the center of everything I make. I'm comfortable with deep questions and unresolved spaces, and I want my paintings to hold that same openness. They aren't meant to explain themselves. Instead, I hope they draw you in: to pause, to look longer, to feel something you might not immediately name. Viewers often describe the work as enigmatic or pensive, and that resonates with me. I'm less interested in offering answers than in creating room for reflection.
